Esbjerg has expanded the use of telemedicine. The new ”Super Hospital”, will give the municipality new tasks and therefore they have introduced a new strategy where they involve the citizens more in their own treatment and care.
They are working to bring welfare Technologies into play in the patients home.
To speed up the process, we have established a CARE center, where we currently have about 100 citizens attached. They get the offer to get vital parameters monitored. Currently, we can monitor blood pressure, saturation, blood sugar, etc. All measurements are collected by the CARE center and monitored by nurses.
In addition, the patients has the opportunity to talk directly to nurses by video meetings. The goal is to have 1000 chronic patients by the end of 2015. By the use of telemedicine and welfare Technologies, we believe that, we can help many patients in the future.
In the telemedicine project, COPD and cardiac patients use Appinux to measure vital parameters and to video chat with nurses. They also use the Team board function in the rehabilitation center.
Appinux delivers in cooperation with Next Step Citizen.
